Forest Stewardship Plan The Forest Stewardship Program is designed to aid private forest
owners nationwide in managing their properties. This program has produced more than 225,000 multi-resource management plans
which encompasses more than 25 million acres of non-industrial
private forestland.

Forest Management Plans including Stewardship Plans
Forest management plans including Stewardship plans are required in order to qualify for
federal or state cost share funding of many forest activities. They can also be required to
keep the tax status of a parcel in "forestland" category. The cost of having a plan written is
cost sharable in many cases. Currently, the primary cost share program is the Forest Land Enhancement Program (FLEP).
Details can be found at

Timber inventory and appraisals
We can provide a formal timber cruise to determine total stand
volume and / or volume to be cut after the stand has been
marked. Using the cruise data, timber valuations can be made.

Monitor forestland for absentee landowners
We can provide periodic visits to your property to check for any trespassing, illegal timber theft, culvert plugs, etc. We can also monitor your forest for any insect or disease problems, or other forest health issues.

Reforestation
If you have a need for reforestation, we can help you decide on the best species and type of seedling to plant on the site, as well as the number of seedlings per acre to plant for adequate stocking. We can help you order seedlings from quality nurseries and can solicit bids from established tree planting contractors if you desire.

planting seedlings as part of reforestation
We have experience with landowners with tree planting needs under the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP).
Improve wildlife habitat

mother deer and her fawn
We can help you improve the habitat for your favorite wildlife
species by planting their favorite native food plants and/or improving or developing water sources. Snags can be created to provide needs for cavity nesting birds and as perches for raptors. If a timber harvest is planned, it can be designed to selectively cut trees to allow more light through
the canopy to stimulate growth of native browse plants.
